Some people shock me. It’s not very often that it happens, but it does happen. 

Yesterday was one of those days. 

So, I was talking to that “friend-quaintence” today for a bit while he was working and he had to hang up because his phone doesn’t stay in service while driving through the middle of nowhere. The only way we talked since we met was through Discord, so I didn’t want to make him uncomfortable and insist that we just call each other. I offered that he could call me when he got home if he wanted to. 

He said yes, and asked me to shoot my number to his inbox.

Well, a few hours later, he called me and we talked as he drove home. Honestly, we didn’t talk about anything super exciting. We laughed about how we seem to scare people out of the server when we’re on call together; I told him about how my partner ate avocado the other day without puking (he’s highly averse). 

What was significant was when he said even though we butt heads sometimes and I can be a bit hot headed, he appreciates the time we hang out together. He said not many people would have hung out with him online for hours on end when he was home on medical leave for 6 weeks. 

Yo, I think I might actually have leveled up to the status of “not quite friend” but “more than acquaintance” and I’m here for it. Which is also kind of crazy, when you consider we almost ripped each others’ heads off numerous times over petty shit before we found common ground. 

They say you don’t know someone until you fuck them or fight them. I guess I can add “frustrate them to the point of cursing you out in Lithuanian” to that list. 

What will happen next?! Honestly, I don’t know.
